ONDA is a non-invasive device from DEKA that uses 2.45 GHz microwaves. Its Coolwaves technology delivers heat below the skin while the handpiece cools the surface. The manufacturer describes applications involving localized fat, cellulite and skin laxity. Facial planning at our clinic focuses on your concern and anatomy.
The consultation brings the treatment method, area and intended goal together in a plan you understand. Microwave energy is delivered through a handpiece moved over the treatment area.
The same description, such as “my jawline looks softer,” can refer to different concerns. Localized fullness beneath the chin and changes in skin firmness may coexist, but they are not interchangeable. An in-person examination helps distinguish them.
Tell Dr. Kim which angles concern you and whether you have noticed weight changes or previous treatment effects. If preserving facial volume matters to you, say so. That helps keep the plan specific to your face with a clear purpose for each treatment area.
A kilojoule is a unit of energy. The numbers in our guide identify different facial treatment options; they do not describe a guaranteed amount of fat reduction or tightening. Different devices use different treatment units, so a shot count and a kJ amount are not directly comparable.
The 40 kJ option is listed for double chin and jawline, while 60, 80 and 100 kJ options are listed for full face and double chin. Dr. Kim should explain the proposed area and energy allocation. Compare like-for-like treatment plans and full visit prices when considering options in Seoul.

Patient experiences vary. The facial accounts on this page include cooling followed by warmth, as well as discomfort near the chin or toward the end of treatment. Cooling and warmth can be felt during the same session; tell the doctor how it feels as treatment progresses.
Discuss comfort measures and aftercare for your own plan. The area being treated and any additional procedures can change the experience.

At day three, Amanda wrote that changes were not yet very noticeable; at three weeks she described a slight difference around her jawline. Her first visit also included injections. Amanda’s journal includes photographs immediately after treatment, at three weeks and four days after her second visit. Those images are useful records, but they are not equivalent assessment points.
Her second visit included LDM without injections. Ask Dr. Kim when to assess your own progress and which follow-up observations would be useful.
A doctor may discuss more than one procedure when there is more than one concern. In the records here, some patients received ONDA with contouring or fat-dissolving injections; others describe LDM or additional devices. Those combinations have different steps and aftercare implications.
Ask what each addition is intended to do and whether it is optional for your goal. Request a separate explanation of costs and recovery. If you prefer to consider ONDA without an injection, make that part of the conversation before agreeing to treatment.

Share when you arrive, when you leave, and whether you can return. Discuss any important event, photographs or other treatments you have planned. This gives the doctor a practical basis for explaining the appointment and what observation or follow-up might be appropriate.
Do not compress a proposed series into a short trip on the assumption that more sessions close together are better. If the plan extends beyond your stay, ask what a single visit can contribute and how you would review progress afterwards. Confirm timing and aftercare individually.
Is your main concern localized fullness, skin firmness or a lifting plan? Start there. ONDA is the conversation about microwave-based contouring and skin laxity. XERF and Ultherapy are other options on the clinic menu to discuss when firmness or lifting is your main concern.
Dr. Kim can explain how the options differ for your face, which approach fits your anatomy and whether a combination has a useful role. Bring your previous treatments and travel dates into that discussion. There is no need to choose a device before you have met the doctor.
Our clinic’s ONDA guide describes 10–20 minutes of treatment time. Your full appointment also includes consultation, preparation and any agreed additional care. Confirm the time for your area and visit when arranging the appointment.
